My Curl Salon offers a welcoming environment for all individuals with curly hair, catering to a wide range of curl patterns from the tightest to the loosest wave. Our mission is to guide you in optimizing your hair care routine, ensuring a simplified approach that eliminates any uncertainty on wash days and the days in between. Our team is dedicated to helping you embrace and love your natural texture.

What To Expect

The Pre-Visit

We are so happy you decided to work with us here at My Curl Salon! 

​

Prior to your visit, you will book your New Client Custom Curly Cut + any add ons you desire, via our online booking portal.

 

You will then be prompted to fill out the New Guest form as well as how to prepare your hair for your appointment. Please make sure you receive a confirmation in order to confirm you have made the appointment.

 

You can always find a copy of the prep information on our website HERE as well, under the Hair Prep tab. 

 

For first time color clients, it is generally preferred you book a cut first and then come back for color. After that you can book them together. This allows us to get to  know you, your hair, create a game plan, make sure the integrity of your hair can support the look you are wanting to achieve  and make sure the appropriate amount of time is booked out.

If you wish to receive both color and cut on the same day as a New Guest, you will begin by filling out the color pre consultation form and likely be asked to come in person to consult. 

​

OTHER IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:

On our online booking, you will be able to see availability 5-6 weeks out at a time. If you are not seeing something as soon as you would like, you are welcome to fill out the waitlist form we have created  as to give us more options for availability instead of the one built into the booking platform.

Arrival

When you arrive at the salon, one of our stylists will greet you warmly.

 

You'll be offered a beverage and then you will begin your consultation.

 

We suggest allowing a little extra time to find our salon on your first visit. Our Contact/Directions page includes a helpful visual to ensure your journey is as smooth as possible.

The Consultation

Our consultation together is one of the foundational pieces of your healthy hair journey. Before we even begin discussing the shape you would like for your hair, we will go through a series of questions with you about current products being used, shampoo and conditioner, frequency of use, method of application and any scalp issues you may be experiencing. That way be can begin helping you create a customized plan and hopefully simplifying your everyday routine. At My Curl Salon, education is at the forefront of everything we do, so that we can build a successful foundation for your hair and scalp and ultimately helping you achieve healthy hair.

Once we have gone through the questions above, we will get into consulting about your color, cut and treatment needs.

​

During this portion we will ask you a series of questions pertaining to shape, length and maintenance as well as assessing variation of curl pattern and long term goals.

​

During The Appointment

During your appointment we encourage you to ask us as many questions as you would like about things you may have heard online about curly hair (we love nerding out debunking and simplifying what you may have seen while going down a rabbit hole online). 

​

When we get to the styling portion of your appointment, we will pop your phone into a holder (please make sure there is nothing obstructing the back) and give you a personalized styling lesson based on your own hair that you get to take home and watch as many times as you would like.

 

We encourage you to come to your next appointment with any questions you may have once you have had an opportunity to familiarize yourself with the techniques you learned.

Feel free to ask to do a hands on styling lesson at your second or third visit so we can help troubleshoot in real time. 

Post Visit

We know that with curly hair sometimes once you go home, a random piece or a few pieces of hair decides it wants to have its own party. This is completely normal.

​

Not to worry, if that happens to you, feel free to reach out to your stylist within 1-2 weeks post service after having washed it a few times to see if there are any random pieces you notice consistently that need adjusting.

​

It's as simple as sending a quick text or email stating you need an adjustment. Please provide your availability and they will get you in as soon as they can for a quick adjustment.
