Rebecca Zoe
Rebecca, the Founder of My Curl Salon, is elated to have opened her salon in her hometown of Pleasant Hill.

Amidst the pandemic, Rebecca relocated her business from Oakland, where she had spent her entire career to Walnut Creek. As her solo venture in a salon suite flourished, she noticed a significant demand for curl specialists, particularly in Contra Costa County. Recognizing the need, Rebecca realized what she had been offering was more than just hair services; she aimed to provide clients with a comprehensive education in hair care and styling—a true salon experience that she believes every client deserves. For her, healthy hair is the foundation of beautiful curls.

Thus, the concept of My Curl Salon was conceived. With few curl specialists in the area, Rebecca realized the importance of training new talent from scratch—an endeavor that would have taken years. She still plans to train others in the future.

Upon deciding to establish My Curl Salon, Rebecca serendipitously crossed paths with Marissa Rullan, an accomplished curl specialist. She was thrilled to have Marissa join her team, bringing her expertise to meet the needs of clients seeking guidance and education for their curls.

We are thrilled to welcome the incredibly talented Marissa to our team. Marissa recently made the move back to the Bay Area after spending her entire career in LA, eager to be closer to her family and reconnect with the vibrant melting pot of the Bay Area.

Marissa is an exceptionally accomplished curl specialist. She earned her cosmetology license at the renowned Vidal Sassoon Academy. She then went on to refine her skills at the Ouidad Flagship in Santa Monica, where she honed her skills in celebrating and enhancing (and unleashing) curls.
​
Driven by a passion for continued learning, Marissa holds numerous certifications, including Deva and Rezo techniques, and currently serves as an educator for Innersense Organic Beauty.

Marissa is dedicated to sharing her expertise and insights with both her clients and fellow stylists. Her aim is to provide an experience that leaves you feeling confident, empowered, and ready to showcase your unique curls to the world!

FUN FACTS ABOUT MARISSA:

Marissa holds a Bachelor's Degree in Gender Studies from UCLA, where she delved into the societal norms of beauty and their lack of inclusivity. This knowledge ignited her passion for empowering individuals with curly hair to embrace their natural beauty.

When Marissa isn't working her magic in the salon, she enjoys practicing yoga and spending time with her husband and two adorable kitties, Miso and Kimchi.
